It’s almost 2am and Jill’s at work, so here goes a few.
- Fox News Producer Caught Rallying 9/12 Protest Crowd In Behind-The-Scenes Video. Ugh. Fox News, surprise, surprise. What do you even say about this?
- The Story Behind the Story. See above. By Mark Bowden.
- News Dots. Slate started doing an interactive map of the day’s top news stories, and how they are related. Pretty interesting.
- Journalism Students Need to Develop Their Personal Brand. While the fact that journalism as a whole is pretty shook up is agreed upon, what the future may look like is widely and hotly debated, it seems like those who will be at the head of the pack are those who have some experience in marketing themselves.

On the subject of the Mexican Cartels, I pay attention to this blog, which is a blog about organized crime, and he pulls links and reports from all around the world. The reporting that is being done in the west and southwest about the Mexican cartels, and the epidemic violence taking place on both sides of the border isn’t really getting any play on the East Coast, despite reports like this.
